Shang Magazine Bring Chopard and Chinese Tour Operators Together

(New York City) On Januray 24, 2013, Shang Magazine, in partnership with Chopard US flagship store in Manhattan, invited 40 NYC-based Chinese tour operators for an in-store tour. Mr. Marc Hruschka, President and CEO of Chopard US, welcomed the tour operators and gave a brief opening speech. Ms. Li Li, Publisher of Shang Magazine, was in attendance.

As a key feature of the night, Lucy, a presentation was given by Lucy, Chinese-speaking sales assistant at the store, to introduce the brand’s history, culture and classic collections. In particular, Lucy focused on pieces from the brand’s Happy Diamonds and Imperiale series. A fancy $25 million-dollar watch featuring three heart-shaped white, blue and pink diamonds, as well as 163 carats of white and yellow flower-like diamonds wowed everybody in the audience.

The presentation was followed by a fun Q and A session, and Ms. Anjo Vacca, Sore Manager, awarded three lucky tour operators with gifts for correctly answering questions proposed by Lucy. As an internationally-renowned luxury timepiece and jewelry brand, Chopard is wildly popular among Chinese consumers, and that popularity was reflected to some extent by the tour operators’ intense interest in the store’s collections. Many of them asked questions and tried things on with visible excitement during the in-store tour escorted by senior Chopard sales associates. At the end of the event, many tour guides expressed willingness to collaborate with the brand by bringing Chinese tour groups to the store for shopping.
